Jewelry Care Guide

To keep your GAIA gold-plated jewelry shining and prevent natural color change (oxidation), follow these simple rules:

  • Last On, First Off: Put your jewelry on after makeup, perfume, and lotion have dried. Take it off first when you get home.
  • Keep It Dry: Always remove your pieces before showering, swimming, or intense workouts.
  • Avoid Chemicals: Direct contact with harsh chemicals, perfumes, or saltwater can strip the gold layer and cause dullness.
  • Store Safely: Keep your pieces in the GAIA airtight pouch or a jewelry box to protect them from moisture.

Black and white. No middle ground.

A beaded ring built on alternating black and white crystal beads, with a single oversized Mother of Pearl sphere at the center. The contrast is deliberate — clean, graphic, immediate. Silver-plated metal beads frame the pearl on each side. Size 7, hand-finished for daily wear.

  • Elements: Black crystal beads, white crystal beads, natural Mother of Pearl, silver-plated metal accents, elastic core
  • Size: 7
  • Rarity: Limited seasonal release.
  • Associations: Cancer (Mother of Pearl)

Express your natural beauty with GAIA pieces, handcrafted with care in Egypt.

Mother of Pearl — the iridescent inner lining of mollusk shells — was among the earliest materials worked by human hands. Excavations across the ancient Near East have recovered Mother of Pearl inlays in furniture, jewelry, and ceremonial objects dating back over four thousand years. In ancient Egypt, it appeared in burial ornaments; in Mesopotamia, it was set into the Standard of Ur alongside lapis lazuli and red limestone. Its value was not symbolic alone — the material was traded across long distances precisely because no two pieces catch light the same way. — Kunz, G.F., The Curious Lore of Precious Stones, J.B.
